iNSTRUCTOR NATHAN RYAN

Instructor Nathan joined Sun Bae in January 2022, returning to Taekwondo since last training as a youngster. Instructor Nathan's dedication shone through, immediately demonstrating his love and commitment. He was invited to participate in the Sun Bae Demo Team, still only at beginner level. His passion for the Korean Martial Arts fuelled his dedication, also securing him a coveted invitation to participate in Kumdo (directly taught by Grandmaster Bradley).  He is a prominent young figure in the school, also successful in competition. 

Training Milestones:

• Achieved double gradings for every rank in both Taekwondo and Kumdo, demonstrating exceptional progress in both disciplines
• Attained Kumdo Black Belt, June 2024
• Attained Taekwondo Black Belt, November 2024

Competition Highlights:

• Gold medallist in patterns (poomsae), at three consecutive Sun Bae Annual Championships
• Gold medallist in patterns (poomsae), both 2023 & 2024 Gold Coast Open Championships
• Gold medallist in patterns (poomsae), 2023 Caboolture Open

Teaching Role:

Since late 2023, Instructor Nathan has been assisting Master Shirly at the Sun Bae KMA Kenmore Centre as an official Assistant Instructor. To teach is to learn. He continues to balance his own martial arts development with his growing teaching responsibilities, embodying Sun Bae's values of dedication and continuous improvement.
